Vacancy Manager Business Development – Industrial Sales

Build the market for industrial tempeh in India

Tempeh today is looking for an entrepreneurial Manager Business Development – Industrial Sales to grow our B2B tempeh business in India.

In this strategic role, you develop partnerships with established food companies that want to create their own branded products using our bulk tempeh. You focus on long-term industrial collaborations, from the first introduction and product trial to commercial launch and repeat orders.

This is not a traditional retail or distributor sales position. You build a new plant-based food category together with customers, R&D teams, purchasing departments and production specialists.


Your role

You identify and develop food companies with strong brands, production capabilities and distribution networks. Relevant customer segments include:

  • Dairy and paneer companies
  • Chilled and frozen food producers
  • Ready-meal manufacturers
  • Vegetarian and plant-based food brands
  • QSR and foodservice suppliers
  • Snack and convenience-food producers
  • Private-label manufacturers

You help these partners develop products such as marinated tempeh cubes, ready-to-cook pieces, snacks, kebabs, fillings and protein-rich meal components.

Your responsibilities

As Manager Business Development – Industrial Sales, you:

  • Track market developments within plant-based food, dairy, frozen food and food manufacturing in India
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of industrial food customers.
    Approach owners, senior management, purchasing teams, R&D specialists and quality departments.
  • Translate bulk tempeh into relevant product concepts for each customer.
  • Coordinate samples, product trials and technical evaluations.
  • Support pricing, negotiations and long-term supply agreements.
  • Work closely with production, quality, logistics and R&D.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and account plans.
  • Convert trials into product launches, recurring orders and sustainable partnerships.

Who we are looking for

You are a commercial builder who understands industrial food sales and long B2B decision-making processes. You combine sales expertise with curiosity about food production and product development. You bring:

  • Proven experience in B2B sales within the food industry.
  • Experience with food ingredients, semi-finished products, private label or industrial food solutions.
  • A relevant network within Indian food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of product trials, purchasing processes and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience working with R&D, QA, production and supply-chain teams.
  • The ability to develop strategic accounts from first contact to repeat business.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • An entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset

Experience in dairy, paneer, chilled food, frozen food, ready meals, plant-based food, QSR supply or foodservice manufacturing is highly relevant.
